Saint-Gobain, the French group of building materials companies, increased sales in its building materials distribution division by 3.2 per cent to € 11.305 mio in the year 2003. This amounts to a drop of 0.5 per cent on a like-for-like basis. After adjusting to account for exchange rate fluctuations it works out at an increase of 2.5 per cent. The operating income was up by 4.9 per cent.
