Above-average growth for DIY market

The volume of the British DIY market will grow annually by an average of 6.6 per cent over the next six years, whereas the retail trade overall will rise by just 4.2 per cent, according to a forecast published by Verdict Research. The market research institute expects that the DIY stores will penetrate into new product categories such as furniture, whereas they themselves have very little reason to fear the intrusion of other specialist retailers into their core product categories.
