The future of DIY is in the hands of the fairer sex. This at any rate is the theory propounded in a wide-ranging study entitled “La femme, avenir du bricolage” to be presented by the French manufacturers’ association UNIBAL at a symposium in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris, on 3 December 2002. The study looks for example at the role women play in planning DIY projects and in the choice of store, brands or products. The list of speakers at the symposium includes Mr Bricolage supremo Maurice Vax, Bruno Roqueplo, director general of Castorama and Francois Corda of Dyrup France. Contact: vbourbier@unibal.org
