The company is already 368 years old - and in the recent past, not one year has gone by without further expansion being announced. In 2018 too: in August FN Neuhofer in Zell am Moos - once again - opened a new warehouse with an area of 2 500 m². The Austrian family-founded company is one of the leading providers of skirting boards and accessories for the floor-wall-ceiling sector.
"We had the good fortune to gain another very important new customer. This major contract meant that we had to invest in another warehouse so that we could continue to offer the best service and fastest delivery times," says Chief Executive Officer Franz Neuhofer when explaining the latest investment.
It was only in April this year that an existing warehouse was enlarged from 1 200 m² to 3 000 m², at the turn of the year a warehouse for solid wood was added with almost 1 000 m². Since 2015 a total of four new warehouses have been built. The total area of all warehouses now lies at 16 700 m².
For the next two years, further investments to the amount of around EUR 12 mio are planned, namely in new production facilities, further production areas, warehouses and the construction of an office building including an impressive showroom. "Our site concept is constantly being optimised in order to ensure we continue to meet our promise that our products and services are always of the highest quality," says Franz Neuhofer who is the tenth generation to run the family company.
This quality strategy has been successful in the past 368 years. And this is particularly true of financial year 2017. Compared to the previous year, FN Neuhofer increased its sales by 15 per cent - to EUR 55 mio.
The double-digit increase in sales and production stand, not least, in relation to the investments. Thus, in the years from 2013 to 2017 almost EUR 14 mio were yielded. In concrete terms, the money was put into the automation and connection of machines, in packaging robots and in a state-of-the-art digital printing machine including patterning room, the FN Digiprint-Competence Center. In addition, the company invested in an aluminium sheathing machine, which is connected to an inline packaging machine. The production capacity of the wrapping and planing machines has thus risen to 165 mio running metres per year.
