French DIY stores for energy-saving renovation

The French DIY retail association Fédération des Magasins de Bricolage et de l'aménagement de la maison (FMB) has signed a charter for the promotion of energy-saving renovations which was initiated by the French government. The action plan "Engagé pour faire" ("committed to make") is supported by the Ministry for Ecological and Solidarity Transition (Ministère des la Transistion Écologique et Solidaire) and by the Housing Ministry (Ministère du Logement). According to official statistics, several million households do not meet minimum standards in insulation technology. Nearly five million households are seen as precarious in terms of energy.
