Clas Ohlson is eight per cent up after nine months

The Swedish retail chain Clas Ohlson has completed the third quarter of its financial year - i.e. November 2018 to January 2019 - with an increase in sales of 6 per cent to SEK 2.746 bn. In local currency the increase amounted to 4 per cent, like-for-like 2 per cent. Online sales have risen by 51 per cent.

In the first nine months (May 2018 to January 2019) of the financial year, sales totalled SEK 7.030 bn. This is an increase of 8 per cent compared to the same period last year. In local currency this is 5 per cent more, like-for-like 2 per cent more.

Clas Ohlson currently still has four locations in Germany. These are expected to be closed by the end of the financial year, i.e. by the end of April. The company will also be withdrawing from Great Britain by then. There are currently still five stores there. Other than in Sweden, Norway and Finland, they only want to be active still in the online business.
