Paper on EU harmonised sorting instructions for packaging waste

The European DIY retail association Edra is one of more than 30 business associations from the packaging value chain that issued a joint proposal to establish an EU harmonised approach for consumer sorting instructions for packaging waste. Harmonising sorting instructions for packaging waste for consumers will boost recycling across the EU and help build a circular economy, the initiators are convinced. The review of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD), according to the associations, represents a unique opportunity to set common requirements for sorting instructions in the EU.
