Online orders accelerating in Spain

ManoMano has recorded 50 per cent more transactions in Spain due to the coronavirus crisis, with sales up as much as 65 per cent in the DIY sphere. This was reported by the online marketplace, which specialises in DIY and garden products, at a "Digital Breakfast" organised by the manufacturers' association, the Asociación de Fabricantes de Ferretería y Bricolaje (AFEB).

According to ManoMano, the weighting of product categories which were scarcely purchased previously on the Internet and are now in demand online has changed substantially. Sales of the paints range, for example, have increased by 1 700 per cent.

The online retailer says that users now spend more time on the website than before the lockdown, with browsing time increasing by 3 per cent. The conversion rate of visit to purchase has also increased.
