The Swedish hardware store chain Clas Ohlson has reported a sales increase for September of six per cent compared with September last year, although it now also has 15 more stores than before (235 in total). Adjusted for currency and retail area, the September sales were two per cent lower than the level of the previous year.
In the first five months of fiscal 2018/2019 (May to September), sales amounted to SEK 3.360 bn (EUR 324 mio), a nine per cent increase on the period in 2017. In like-for-like terms and local currencies, the sales increase was one per cent. Online sales in this period rose by 49 per cent to SEK 148 mio (EUR 14 mio).
