Like its competitor Home Depot, Lowe's can now put a figure on its hurricane-related sales in the third quarter of fiscal 2017/2018 (ended 3 November 2017), and the figure is USD 200 mio. Overall the second-biggest DIY store operator in the USA and the world reported quarterly sales totalling USD 16.770 bn, representing an increase of 6.5 per cent compared with the same period last year. Comparable sales increased by 5.7 per cent. For the nine-month period, sales increased by 7.9 per cent to USD 53.125 bn over the same period a year ago, and comparable sales increased by 4.0 per cent. Comparable sales for the U.S. home improvement business increased by 5.1 per cent for the third quarter and 3.9 per cent for the nine-month period.
