An extensive country report on Latin America is delivered in the new edition of the trade journal DIY International which is out now. The cover story is an interview with Verónica Valdez; as CEO, she is at the helm of the Peruvian DIY store chain Promart which was only founded ten years ago. Market leader Sodimac from Chile also gets a say. Comprehensive figures on the country report have been contributed by the statistics department of the Dähne Verlag publishing house.
Of course, the coronavirus pandemic has also left its mark on the 1/2021 edition. In this respect, several contributions in the Trade section deal with the effects on the DIY stores in the USA, Spain and Germany as well as on consumer behaviour in Europe.
And speaking of Europe: Brexit, which finally arrived in 2021, has also had consequences for the home improvement and garden industry - on this side and the other side of the English Channel. In DIY International, the British association of manufacturers express their opinion on this.
The Global DIY Summit is also not able to take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The event organisers - the international associations Edra/Ghin and Hima - have therefore set up the Global DIY-Network platform. DIY International summarises the CEO interviews and presentations of recent weeks.
The Industry section covers, for example, the globally active plastics manufacturer Keter and also FN Neuhofer. In addition, there is an assortment focus on the topic of home and design trends with reports on Koczwara, Motip Dupli and the newly formed Plan-Style-Group.
