The German DIY store chain Hornbach continues to grow more strongly abroad than on its home market. In the first quarter of its financial year 2019/2020 (1 March to 31 May 2019) it increased overall sales compared to the same period last year by 8.5 per cent to EUR 1.3384 bn. At home, growth amounted to 8.0 per cent (EUR 729.6 mio), abroad this was 10.4 per cent (EUR 608.9 mio). Nevertheless, Chief Financial Officer Roland Pelka says: "We are particularly pleased about the growth of like-for-like sales in Germany.
