Continued high growth expected in Spain and Portugal

DIY store sales in Spain will grow this year by 5.6 per cent. This forecast has been made by the market research company DBK Informa. It states that the market grew in 2017 by 6.1 per cent to a volume of EUR 3.545 bn. DIY stores with retail space of more than 1 000 m² were taken into account. In September 2018 these numbered 370 locations in Spain.

DBK sees even better figures for Portugal. After an increase of 7.3 per cent to EUR 880 mio, the market researchers expect a further increase of 6.3 per cent for the overall year 2018. 180 DIY stores were counted here on the reporting date.
