Cencosud increases sales with home improvement

The Chilean trade company Cencosud has completed the first quarter with an increase in sales in its business field home improvement retail - mainly under the brand Easy. Sales rose by 2.3 per cent to CLP 332 bn.

However on the Chilean home market there was only an increase of 0.2 per cent to CLP 136 bn. In Argentina, the largest market with a volume of CLP 180 bn, the two sales channels Easy and Blaisten made 4.0 more sales after adjusting for currency effects; 22 per cent in local currency, same store sales increased by 21.2 per cent. CLP 15 bn came out of Columbia, thus 1.0 per cent more than the same period last year, however sales declined by 1.9 per cent in local currency.
