BackBob Nardelli now advises hydroponics company Grow Generation
The former Home Depot boss Bob Nardelli now works for Grow Generation as a strategic advisor. He is expected to provide advice on matters relating to supply chain, merchandising, branding, distribution, new product introduction, pricing and channel selection.
New Generation is one of the largest chains of specialty retail hydroponic and organic gardening stores in the world. Currently it has 23 stores in the United States. The mission of the company is said to be to operate Grow Generation branded stores in all the major legalised cannabis states in the US and Canada. Included in the product range are organic nutrients and soils, lighting technology and hydroponic equipment to be used indoors and outdoors by commercial and home growers. Management estimates that roughly 1 000 hydroponic stores are in operation in the US. By 2020 the market is estimated to reach over USD 23 bn with a compound annual growth rate of 32 per cent.
Bob Nardelli switched from General Electrics to Home Depot in 2000, where he held the position of CEO and president until 2007. After that he was chairman and CEO at Chrysler until 2009.
