A company name really cannot be any more expressive: "Never drilling again" is the promise a German company makes, and this company is called - in its German original - just that: "nie wieder Bohren" AG.
This is the motto under which the founder Frank Braun brought his "adhesive adapter" to the market. He started with four workers in 2005. There are now more than 90 employees.
In March 2017 Tesa, who had already been marketing a similar technology since 1994 with its Powerstrips, took over 100 per cent of the company. It is now managed by the two Tesa managers Achim Franck, previously Head of International Marketing & Development Consumer & Craftsmen, and Reinhold Zintgraf as Head of Communication, Digital Development & Sales Services.
The technology behind the descriptive name is internationally patented. It makes it possible to permanently affix accessories weighing as much as 20 kilograms, such as towel bars and cabinets, to bathroom surfaces including wall tiles, glass, and natural stone - all without drilling or installing wall anchors or bolts beforehand. The adapter and adhesive can be removed as needed later on, without leaving any residue behind, ensures the provider.
Tesa had already been collaborating with "nie wieder bohren" AG on the introduction of new products since 2010. Five years ago, Tesa launched its Tesa Powerbutton range of metal hooks, which offer superior quality and strong hold and are based on technology from nie wieder bohren. In 2016, the company introduced the Tesa adhesive screw for various indoor and outdoor surfaces.
At the same time, "nie wieder bohren" AG, with its innovative and unique fixing technology, became established on the German market for adhesive fixing solutions and bathroom accessories. Tesa sees this as the perfect complement to its existing portfolio of fixing solutions on the basis of double-sided adhesive tapes, Powerstrips and the clever fixing system.
Of course, this also has consequences for the trading partners. Because Tesa wants to offer such compelling assortment concepts with new applications - coupled with professional services in terms of ability to supply, shelf maintenance, customer communication, POS design, training and marketing support. After all, the goal is clear: to generate additional buyers.
