The Taiwan Hardware Show has increased its number of overall visitors as well as the buyers from abroad. Attending the 18th edition of the trade fair from 17 -19 October 2018 in Taichung were 5 184 overseas buyers from more than 85 countries, 2 per cent more than in the previous year.
Major buyers from the United States, Australia, Japan, South Korea and other regular visiting countries contributed to the visitor growth this year. Increase in the number of visitors from Pakistan, Germany, Russia and other countries also added further internationality on the show floor, according to an announcement by the event organiser Kaigo.
The overall number of visitors has also increased by 2 per cent to 31 500. The number of exhibitors has increased by 3 per cent to 425. The exhibition area amounted to 16 524 m².
The supporting programme included appearances, for example, from Jean- François Dubost, chairman of the International Federation of Hardware & Housewares Associations (IHA). The trade fair was also accompanied by the Hardware Industry Forum with specialist presentations on international market trends. In addition to that, the Taiwan Hardware Show and The Taiwan External Trade Development Council jointly held the 2018 Hand Tools Industry Cluster Purchasing Day, inviting purchasers from high value-added industries such as aerospace, medical, automotive repair and digital hand tools to come to Taiwan to participate in the exhibition.
In 2017, the Taiwan Hardware Show relocated within the city of Taichung, namely to the International Exhibition Hall. "Given that Taichung has risen as the second largest export area of the global hardware industry in recent years, we have chosen to continue holding the exhibition here," Gerd Keim, President of Kaigo, affirmed this decision. "This move mirrors the developmental trend of the industries where manufacturers and international buyers want to meet each other closer and more directly. The exhibition therefore facilitates this need to encourage ease of networking and procurement activities," Gerd Kaim added.
The next Taiwan Hardware Show will be held on 17-19 October 2019.
