Toolstation grows by almost 26 per cent and expands in Europe

Toolstation, the trade-focused sales channel of the British retail group Travis Perkins, continues to grow in double-digit growth rates. In the year 2019 it increased its sales by 25.7 per cent and achieved like-for-like growth of 16.3 per cent. In Great Britain the network was expanded by 65 branches to 400 stores; included in this were also trials of smaller-format branches in smaller catchment areas, as the company reports.
26 branches were opened on the European mainland, 22 of which in the Netherlands and a first location in Belgium. There are further locations in France. At the end of the year, 66 branches belonged to Toolstation Europe. Travis Perkins has also procured a further 50 per cent of the shares in this European subsidiary of which the group now holds 97 per cent of the shares.
