E-commerce sales of the Kingfisher Group for the first half of the year (start of February to the end of July) grew by 164 per cent compared with the same period last year. The share of sales generated online has now risen from 7 per cent of total sales in mid-2019 to 19 per cent, although Screwfix accounts for a large proportion of this. Excluding this distribution channel, the e-commerce share of sales is 8 per cent (first half of fiscal 2019/2020: 3 per cent).
These figures are taken from Kingfisher's half-year report, which also makes reference once again to the strategic plan "Powered by Kingfisher" that was unveiled in June 2020. The plan focuses on expansion of the online business.
Click & Collect sales are increasing fastest, with an increase of 243 per cent. Their share of e-commerce business is now 79 per cent overall and 66 per cent excluding Screwfix.
