Erich Harsch succeeds Steffen Hornbach as chairman of the executive board

Erich Harsch (57), member of the supervisory board at Hornbach Baumarkt AG, will be the successor to Steffen Hornbach (61) as new chairman of the executive board. On 28 August 2019, the supervisory board decided to appoint Erich Harsch as full member of the board and chairman of the executive board at Hornbach Baumarkt AG with effect from 1 January 2020. Steffen Hornbach, CEO of the company since 1 November 2001, will stand down from his position on the executive board on health grounds with effect from 31 December 2019.
Erich Harsch has been chairman of the management board at dm-drogerie markt GmbH & Co. KG since 2008. As a long-serving member of the board at Hornbach Baumarkt AG the retail expert is, according to the company, familiar with the business model and the structures of the listed DIY store group as well as with the challenges of the DIY store industry.
