In the first half year of its financial year 2018/2019, i.e. from May to October, Clas Ohlson made sales to the amount of SEK 4.115 bn (EUR 403 mio). This corresponds to an overall increase of 9 per cent, an organic growth of 5 per cent and an increase of 2 per cent in comparable units. Online growth was 51 per cent.
Following its new strategy, the company wants to concentrate on the Nordic countries and e-commerce. The company has announced an optimisation of the product mix in its stationary trade. They state that in-store tests have shown 'that we can reduce the number of products and still considerably increase sales in many categories,' according to a statement by Lotta Lyrå, president and CEO of Clas Ohlson.
