Cashbuild plans third store in Zambia

26.10.2018

The South African Cashbuild group is planning a third location in Zambia. The opening is expected to be April 2019. Cashbuild opened its first location in the country in August 2017 and another one later in the year. These stores are currently not performing as expected, according to the Integrated Report 2017/2018. The main reason is the "excessive" cost of getting stock into Zambia from South Africa.
In general the company plans the opening of an average of ten Cashbuild stores and ten P&L Hardware stores per year. The format of the Cashbuild DIY stores was dropped in favour of the P&L sales channel. The DIY stores are to be converted where appropriate, two were closed in financial year 2017/2018.
