Byggmax loses, mainly due to Skånska Byggvaror

The Swedish DIY store group Byggmax has completed the year 2018 with a decline in sales. At SEK 5.1078 bn, net sales were 4.0 per cent lower than in the previous year. Net sales for comparable stores decreased by 4.0 per cent as well.
The sales channel Byggvaror Skånska is primarily responsible for the decline. Its sales dropped by 28.1 per cent to SEK 509.9 mio. In contrast, the primary sales channel Byggmax almost achieved the previous year's value with a decline of 0.2 per cent to SEK 4.4911 bn.
At the end of the year, the group operated a total of 163 stores: there were 100 Byggmax stores in Sweden for the first time, as well as nine Skånska Byggvaror locations, 44 stores in Norway (including four Skånska Byggvarors) and eleven Byggmax stores in Finland.
