The British chain of DIY stores Wickes and the small format and mail order concept Toolstation have significantly increased their sales in the first half of 2016. Their parent company Travis Perkins reports sales in its consumer division of GBP 822 mio, which is an increase of 7.3 per cent. Like-for-like increase was 4.7 per cent.
In the case of Wickes, according to a statement from the company, the additional 18 store refits which have been carried out, have had an impact, as 82 of the more than 230 outlets in total have now been refitted to the new store format.
In Great Britain, 19 new branches have been added to the Toolstation portfolio. Travis Perkins emphasises that they are keeping to the plan of further expansion in Europe. Thus, the number of locations in the Netherlands has increased by five to 17. There are Toolstation online shops in France, Germany and Belgium.
