The Swedish Clas Ohlson group recorded a drop in sales of 8 per cent in September. In local currencies, the ("organic") decline amounted to 3 per cent compared to the same month last year, this was also -3 per cent like-for-like. The number of locations has reduced by three to 228 since then.
Online sales have also declined by 6 per cent. Lotta Lyrå, president and CEO, states that the reason for this is the implementation of a new inventory management system.
In the period from May to September, sales in e-commerce still lay at around 42 per cent over the corresponding previous year's level. However in these five months, overall sales by Clas Ohlson sank by 2 per cent to SEK 3.392 bn (EUR 327 mio), yet in contrast, rose by 3 per cent in local currencies.
