The 8th Global DIY Summit has been postponed to a later date, according to an announcement by the organisers, the international associations Edra/Ghin and Hima. They expect to release a new date in the next few weeks. After it proved impossible to stage the event as originally envisaged in Amsterdam in 2020, plans were made to move it to 9 to 11 June 2021 in Copenhagen.
Due to the high level of safety precautions and hygiene standards in place for travel in the EU as well as the mutations of the virus presently circulating, an international world-class event would inevitably be impacted by such travel restrictions and the continuing high coronavirus infection rates, said Obi CEO Sergio Giroldi and Wolfcraft proprietor Reinhard Wolff, the respective presidents of Edra/Ghin and Hima, in a statement. They make explicit reference to the Global DIY Network, launched by the associations in October 2020 to offer the sector a virtual platform for sharing information.
The organisers have given assurances that tickets and sponsorships for the Global DIY Summit 2021 remain valid and will be extended automatically.
