More than half of sales are attributed to DIY, the main goods group (51 per cent), building materials at 37 per cent and the garden segment at 12 per cent. The largest sales channel by far was identified by the IFH survey as trade and other channels which include, among other things, the furniture trade, department stores and store chains as well as food retailing; almost three quarters of the market volume is attributed to this position. The DIY stores (more than 1 000 m² retail space) follow in this observation with a market share of 10 per cent.
