New production record for 2016

According to company information, Bosch Power Tools will achieve a new production record in 2016 with its drills, lawn mowers and laser measures: the manufacturer of power tools expects more than 50 mio power tools to have come off the production line this year - more than ever before. Statistically speaking, around 1.5 devices are produced every second. Cordless devices play an important role in the product portfolio. Their share in the production volume of Bosch Power Tools continues to grow. It is well known that Bosch introduced the world's first power tool with lithium-ion battery to the market in 2003: the Ixo. Every year an average of more than one million of these small cordless screwdrivers come off the production line. They are manufactured in Miskolc in Hungary. Overall more than 15 mio Ixos have been produced since being introduced to the market. When lined up from top to bottom they would stretch over a distance of almost 2 200 kilometres - that's all the way from Stuttgart to Miskolc and back. Power tools by Bosch Power Tools are sold and produced all over the world - not only in Germany, but also in other European countries, Asia, North and South America.
