The new Flower & Garden Attraction trade show is to be established as an autonomous fair segment of the Fruit Attraction show in Madrid.

A new garden trade show is set to launch in Spain this year. The Flower & Garden Attraction show is to be established as an autonomous fair segment of the Fruit Attraction show in Madrid from 23 to 25 October 2018. It is targeted at the plant and flower sector, with plant growers and retailers expected to exhibit along with suppliers of substrates, fertilisers, seeds, plant protection products and accessories. The Madrid fair company IFEMA believes that visitors to the show from Spain and elsewhere will be buyers from garden centres, wholesalers, home improvement stores, companies in the supermarket sector, florists, garden and landscape designers and interior decor retailers. There will be a specific focus on export activities, and a conference programme is also planned.

The backdrop to the new show is the rapidly growing export volume of the Spanish garden industry. Spanish exports of flowers and plants have risen by 11 per cent in the last year to a volume of EUR 362.7 mio, driven by the biggest segment, live plants. The volume of exports of this segment has grown by 11 per cent to EUR 303.1 mio.
