Festive award ceremony for Prof. Klaus Fischer

During yesterday's ceremonial gala evening, Prof. Klaus Fischer received the 4th Global DIY Lifetime Award. The evening event in Stockholm's City Hall - in the same room in which the annual Nobel Prize is awarded - was one of the highlights of the congress. The laudation for Professor Klaus Fischer was held by Roland Kamm, the former CEO of Kärcher. He highlighted four of the award winner's superior qualities: Klaus Fischer is a "pioneer and generator of ideas", his "passion and diligence", his principle of "leading by serving" and his "generosity". "The award could not have been given to a more worthy recipient", said Kamm.Fischer accepted the prize expressly "on behalf of all the employees of my company" as the success of the company is largely due to its people. Nowadays Fischer has approximately 4 500 employees worldwide, "but we still are a big family", said the award winner.
