John W. Herbert has been general secretary of Edra since its inception.

The European DIY retailers' body Edra (European DIY Retail Association) celebrates its 15th birthday this year. Established in 2002 at the instigation of the two French associations BHB and FMB, Edra now comprises 92 companies with combined annual sales of around EUR 78 bn. In 2009, the Global Home Improvement Network (Ghin) arose out of Edra. This organisation now has 119 member companies with 22 000 stores in 102 countries and combined sales of EUR 245 bn. John W. Herbert has been general secretary of Edra since its inception.
