Byggmax is hardly growing in like-for-like terms

The Swedish DIY store operator Byggmax closed the year 2016 with sales of SEK 5.2193 bn.

The Swedish DIY store operator Byggmax closed the year 2016 with sales of SEK 5.2193 bn. That was 26.3 per cent more than the previous year. The increase of this amount is primarily due to the takeover of Skånska Byggvaror. Because net sales for comparable stores increased only by 0.8 per cent. The fourth quarter in particular proved difficult: here the net sales for comparable stores dropped by 9.1 per cent.
The company opened a total of 15 new stores in the previous financial year: six Byggmax stores in Sweden, three Byggmax stores in Norway, five Skånska Byggvaror stores in Sweden and one DYL - Design Your Living store in Stockholm.
