04.10.2016

The members of the American cooperative Ace Hardware are looking to the future confidently, according to the latest biennial Retailer Satisfaction Survey among 756 Ace hardware retail store owners. Nearly 90 per cent of the respondents reported feeling optimistic about their future business outlook.
Other key findings of the survey were that 82 per cent of retailers plan to add new merchandise categories. 77 per cent intend to renovate their stores or take on departmental renovations; 71 per cent plan to add new target segments to their stores sales efforts (e.g. business to business); 64 per cent of surveyed retailers plan to increase their workforce; nearly 20 per cent plan to add square footage to their existing stores; and more than a quarter of surveyed retailers plan to open a new store.
The cooperative is expanding rapidly at present. Ace is on track to open an estimated 160 new stores across the U.S. in 2016; this is in addition to the 750 new stores that have opened in the last five years.
