For seven countries - Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain - and for Europe as a whole, the work now provides information on additional important key figures on a unified data basis: the individual market volume with change rate over a period of ten years as well as the per capita spendings in the DIY market.
Here, the German publishers Dähne Verlag cooperates with the renowned market research institutes IFH Retail Consultants and Klaus Peter Teipel Research & Consulting. As a result of the new material the size of the work has now grown to 86 pages.
After all, a lot has been happening. For example after the collapse of Praktiker in 2014 another established player disappeared from the European stage last year: the Austrian market leader Baumax, which was active in several countries in Central and Eastern Europe as well as in Turkey, has also disappeared from the European stage.
There haven't been any changes to the top ten ranking DIY retailers in Europe: the French group Adeo has further increased its lead at the top - with an increase in sales of 3.7 per cent, while Kingfisher has fallen back more with a drop of 2.5 per cent. In total the ranking has remained unchanged compared to the previous year.
