With the headline "Your wish. Your plan. Your project" Germany's number one DIY store operator is setting up a garden designer service - a new concept for the realisation of individual garden projects - in practically all of its store locations. As a result, Obi is getting a strong foothold in the project business, which is an area that every DIY operator dreams about for the future of new stores, revenues and consumer groups. The latest project module can already be admired on a special area at the Obi Cologne-Pesch store. Depending on the store size and local conditions, there are three possible sizes available for the garden design with the biggest module located in Cologne-Pesch.  A total of 18 garden project designs will be on display here and even the smallest module still has space for twelve garden design ideas. All the necessary materials needed to realise the projects - at least 400 - are available on site and can be seen in a showroom exhibition. The project covers everything from patios to carports and even raised beds to privacy protection and ponds.
Obi's new garden design concept incorporates customer advice and support for individual garden projects: from a vague customer idea to the detailed planning of materials required, quantities, construction etc. down to accompanying the actual job realisation with instructions or on-site support. The customer advisor for the garden design project translates the customer's initial idea into a concrete picture of how the garden will finally look. The customer advisor supports the customer from the start through to the preparation and realisation of the project.
Besides the physical garden module in-store, the key component is the planning software, which helps to create realisable garden dreams due to its user simplicity and security but at the same time with a high degree of sophistication. All types of garden design variations can be simulated in collaboration with the customer: from the graphic planning to the choice of product, possible variations and even the conditions on site. At the same time, the customer always has a clear overview of the costs, delivery times, the time-scale (even for sub-projects), logistical possibilities as well as the respective level of…
