The online marketplace ManoMano is currently focusing more on the topics of product sustainability and second life, i.e. the sale of used products. This became clear during an online presentation by Adrien Boullet, Senior Lead Manufacturer Account Manager at ManoMano, at the Global DIY Network. Because a majority of young consumers in particular want to buy sustainable products but are often unable to identify them in the product range, ManoMano wants to display the carbon score wherever possible. In this context, Boullet appealed to manufacturers: "In the DIY industry, we need much more data from you."

ManoMano started selling used products on its marketplace in France in December. However, demand is higher than supply, Boullet admitted. He encouraged sellers to enter the marketplace with used products as well.

In the DIY industry, have a responsibility

Moderator Ken Hughes ended the online Q&A session with a special appeal: he called on the industry to help the organisation Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (to which he donated his fee for this webinar) for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. "In the DIY industry, we have a responsibility," he said. "We can make a difference as that community."
