Market trend in Germany, France, Britain and the Netherlands

In the last five years the DIY stores in Germany, France, Britain and the Netherlands have achieved sales growth with hand gardening tools as well as watering and cleaning technology for the garden. The sales of motorised garden tools are down by comparison. As a result, market researchers GfK Retail and Technology have established that watering technology and hand tools now achieve the same sales volume as motorised tools. However, the developmental trends were different in the individual countries. In Germany, which accounts for 41 per cent of the market in the four countries mentioned, motorised garden tools have lost ground by value and quantity in the past five years. This is also applies to Britain, which has a 22 per cent share of the market. The trend in France and the Netherlands developed more positively by comparison.
