The trade journal diy is reaching its 40th birthday this year and, in celebration of this, has now been published in a great anniversary edition. It is regarded as the leading trade magazine in the German-language DIY and garden industry and is brought out by the Dähne Verlag publishing house, who also publish specialist journals including DIY International.
In the anniversary issue, the diy 8/2017 edition, 28 guest authors write a total of 28 pages on the subject of "The future of the DIY industry" under the motto "Insight, perspective, outlook". Divided into the four sections "New formats", "New competitors", "New customers" and "New ideas", the individual contributions address the risks and opportunities that will shape the German and European DIY industry in the next few years. In fitting with a 40th birthday, a total of 40 numbers with a reference to the construction and handyman scene are scattered around the entire issue.  A major leading article and a statistics section round off the anniversary edition.
The title page is symbolic of the process of change which has formed DIY stores in past decades - that is to say: really there are two pages. A flip image first shows a hardware store as it looked 40 years ago, and then a sales area as it could look in ten years' time.
Individual issues of diy 8/2017 (only in German) can be ordered at www.daehne.de/diy-jubi.
