Falabella’s DIY stores grew in 2017 except in Colombia

The Chilean retail group Falabella, parent company of the Sodimac DIY stores, recorded sales for its home improvement division of CLP 2 045 241 mio (EUR 2.761 bn) in Chile in 2017, thus 2.2 per cent more than in the previous year. In Colombia DIY store sales fell by 1.9 per cent (1.2 per cent in local currency) to CLP 751 542 mio (EUR 1.015 bn). In Peru, sales rose by 1.6 per cent (2.4 per cent) to CLP 601 199 mio (EUR 812 mio), in Brazil by 12.7 per cent (8.4 per cent) to CLP 188 760 mio (EUR 255 mio) and in Argentina by 2.9 per cent (20.8 per cent) to CLP 170 958 mio (EUR 231 mio). Apart from Colombia, same-store sales in all countries were in the positive category.
The home improvement division of Falabella comprises the Sodimac, Imperial, Homy, Dicico and Maestro distribution lines.
