The Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson concluded its fiscal 2016/17, running from 1 May 2016 to 30 April 2017, with sales amounting to SEK 7.602 bn. This equates to growth of five per cent and four per cent more when adjusted for currency effects. In the fourth quarter, Clas Ohlson's sales increased by five per cent (in local currencies by two per cent) to SEK 1.575 bn.
The company announced its intention of continuing to restructure the UK store network by closing two more stores. However, the business is to be strengthened in Germany. In Hamburg, which already hosts the first three Clas Ohlson stores, a fourth store is to open in winter 2017.
