A new player has appeared in the Belgian garden market under the brand Oh'Green. The five garden centres of the Oh! Green chain, four stores of Walter van Gastel and three Belgian Intratuin outlets merged last year to form the Garden Center Holding company. This has now decided to enter the market in the slightly modified brand form of Oh'Green (without exclamation mark).
The Intratuin garden centre in Aarschot will be the first to switch to the new Oh'Green concept, with the other two Intratuin stores following suit by the end of the year. The four affiliated stores of Walter van Gastel will retain their name but add the words "part of Oh'Green". Other stores in this chain are not included in the merger.
The annual sales of Garten Center Holding and its twelve stores are put at 70 mio euros. The company employs 280 people.
