Home Depot, the largest DIY store operator in the United States and in the world, achieved sales of USD 23.887 bn in the first quarter of its current financial year (ending 30 April 2017). This is an increase of 4.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. Comparable store sales were positive 5.5 per cent, and comparable sales for US stores were positive 6.0 per cent. At the end of the quarter the company had 2 281 locations in the USA, Canada and Mexico, six more than a year ago.
