The Swedish chain Byggmax aims to implement a new growth strategy in Finland. It plans to reorganise its store network and to make it more effective. The process seems likely to result in redundancies, as the company says it will hold employee co-operation negotiations that may lead to at most 30 employment relationships being terminated.
"Byggmax has been present in Finland since 2008 without reaching its long-term goal to create a store network of 20 to 25 stores," Mattias Ankarberg, the Byggmax Group's president and CEO was quoted as saying in a press release. "We see great potential in Finland and we are under no circumstances planning to exit Finland."
